These birds were trapped on a Compact flash card for 3 days !!! All my fault !!

Finally I got a chance to release them to your view this morning. It looked kinda interesting to me, so I decided to make it the photo of the day. - The bird looking at me happens to be somewhat coincidental, though I was focusing on it.

Doing my snap for the day early today, got to work tonight

Taste the Thunder !

A thunderstorm battered our area yesterday night, I would have loved if I could set this in a dramatic backdrop (An open grassland, or may be on top of Denver skyline?) - but all I could manage is this :-)

As I got some questions, will try to explain how to do this. There are a few ways to get such a shot, this is what I used

Mount the camera on tripod and point it somewhere which is high probability of lightning
Set the aperture to min what your camera allows - this varies according to focal length - so if you are at 17mm you will get 32 or 36 and when you go to 300mm you can get 45. As this is going to be wide angle mostly you have to go with 32.

Set the shutter timing to BULB
Use a remote shutter release, and keep the shutter open till you get a lightning
It works better if your scene is dark enough, else you might get over exposure with BULB

There might be some ways of getting a better contrast (I am hoping some one can tell me)

A train from the past :-)

Spotted this near Denver International Airport, and the sun forced me to pull over my car to get a shot of this.

September 2008 - Taken in an aspen grove near the Peak To Peak Scenic Byway in Colorado. the trees have an amazing contrast and the scene is just heavenly

16th St Denver in the night - I love this shot because I exposed it longer to get the clouds moving and it came just like I wanted. It was a beautiful breezy Saturday and a perfect time to take a stroll on the mall street

Hanging in there -

This is my second butterfly for the week. Have been working hard last 2 days and had no time to even take the camera out. So Butterfly it is, from last Saturday :-)

These butterflies are so amazingly colorful, and these are very very gentle paced. They hardly fly !!! - may be because of the chunky body :-)

A true artist is a person who lives the performance. Spotted this street artist performing in Boulder, CO. (My favorite hunting ground) - He loves what he does and his face said it loud and clear. The expression of living a performance - Priceless !

Lorikeets are small tropical birds and are incredibly colorful. Mainly found in Australia, South and South East Asia.

Lets make it colorful !!!

This was shot a 3 weeks back when my daughter forced me to buy "Neon Straws" from TARGET. I took a couple of shots with them in a cup and then thought this is more of an interesting angle.

This is not as perfect as I want this shot (visible imperfections on the sides - i did not want to crop it), need to attempt this again in few days :-)

Thank you all for commenting on my repetition photo !

I have been chosen to handle some new things at work. Looks like it will rob me out of whatever little personal time I had at least for a few days. I think I might have to cut the time I spend on photography in a big way, so you might see me a lot less active till this stabilizes.

It has been more than a week - life has been extremely tough with loads of work - finally took a break -

Denver had overcast weather today and thanks for the same. This was shot at Denver Zoo, I have seen the peacock dance many times in India, but never got a shot - View in XLarge - I love the colors !

My last image from the same scene !!! - I promise!

Another shot from same place. I hate to be repeitive, but I just loved this angle. Really love the Rivets, and the patch work on the side, It is wonderful to visualize the past - these are some glimpses we still can see and appreciate.

Attempting to publish a photo a day starting today - My daughter wanted to go to the butterfly park and we paid a visit today - This guy is really cool - good pose as well

This was shot in the winter of 2006, on a frozen pond in Nederland, CO. I love this shot for the contrast between the twig and the Ice block and the air bubbles on the frozen pond - Let me know what you feel.
